“There was no guest room available for them” (Luke 2:7). Why?
–First, census time was a busy time for an innkeeper.
–Also, if he admitted this couple, other guests must leave.
–Finally, if Mary and Joseph were wealthy, a room may have opened up.
Today, when Christ “stands at the door and knocks” (Revelation 3:20), the response of many people is the same; 1-too busy to be bothered, 2-other priorities, or 3-looking for different values.
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12). Pray and praise from our heart, “Joy to the world! . . . Let every heart prepare him room.”
