In his book, Time and Myth, University of Notre Dame professor John S. Dunne shares a wonderful doxology to life in God:
“As I explore the height and the depth and the breadth of life, each discovery I made about life is a discovery about God, each is a step with God, a step toward God.”
Professor Dunne’s thought sends my mind to a text that I love: “And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love.
Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:17-19, The Message).
Lord, this day, strengthen us, your children, to see YOU in all the dimensions of life. Amen.
