Identity in God

Solitude is the furnace of transformation into which Jesus submitted himself. He faced the temptation to be relevant [“turn stones into bread”], to be spectacular, [“throw yourself down”], and to be powerful, [“I will give you all these kingdoms”]. He emerged from solitude with God as the only source of his identity (see Matthew 4:1-11).
