May I recall the parable of soil and rags,
soap and water and cleansing.
Open my eyes to see
my own faults,
my own weaknesses,
the harms I have caused and the griefs I have inflicted,
not so that I would sit in a pang of impassable guilt,
but so that I might be stirred too fresh repentance.
I pray you would ever continue to cleanse me,
by your Spirit,
day to day and week to week,
that I might be more and more like Jesus.
Amen.
