Introducing Richard Leslie Parrott – Author, Speaker, Educator, Professor, Keynote Speaker, Consultant, Preacher, Educator, International Speaker

 

Richard Leslie Parrott, Ph.D., is a professor at Trevecca Nazarene University teaching Leadership Studies. Specifically, he teaches leadership in the areas of business, education, and Christian ministries. Dr. Parrott is also an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene with a quarter century of pastoral ministry. Dr. Parrott served small church ministries as well as leading a congregation that numbered over 2500.  He is an Ordained Elder in the Church of the Nazarene.

In addition, he served as an Associate Professor of Christian Leadership at Ashland Theological Seminary and Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program as well as the Founding Executive Director of the Sandberg Leadership Center. While at Ashland Theological Seminary, he worked with over one hundred and thirty pastors from twenty-five denominations and many world areas.

His ministry, My Soul Purpose, crosses age barriers with an experience of authenticity in Christ. These programs help Christians deepen their spiritual identity in Christ, while taking joyful responsibility for daily life in Christ’s Spirit.  As he often says, “Imagine the God of the Universe saying to you, ‘What shall we create out of your life?'”

Dr. Parrott is known for his love and knowledge of Scripture, practical application of Spiritual truth, transformational teaching and preaching, his ability to equip individuals and groups for ministry, and his deep passion for guiding spiritual growth. His ministry is within and beyond the walls of the church.

Dr. Parrott was educated at Eastern Nazarene College (B.A.), University of Missouri (M.A. in Psychology), Nazarene Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and received his Ph.D. from Oregon State University in Education Administration.

Dr. Parrott’s particular interest and expertise is spiritual, personal, and professional development. Richard is frequently called upon to speak and lead seminars and development programs. He has worked collaboratively with Leadership centers at Yale, Claremont, and Gordon-Conwell. He has held seminars in strategic planning, team building, and leadership development for groups such as the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy, the State of Ohio Executive Board of the Chamber of Commerce, the Seattle Leadership Conference, and the Special Operations group of the Federal Marshals, Justice Department, Washington, D.C.  He has also developed and presented extensive leadership programs for several national organizations.

He and his wife, Shirley, reside in Franklin Tennessee. Dr. Parrott teaches an adult Sunday school class each week at Nashville First Church of the Nazarene and serves on the board of discipleship of his local church.
